There’s something truly special about a wedding that blends timeless elegance with genuine warmth – and Huw and Laura’s beautiful spring celebration at Polhawn Fort was exactly that.
Set against the dramatic Cornish coastline, their wedding day was filled with laughter, emotion, and effortless style. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be one of those weddings where everything just flows – relaxed, heartfelt, and full of personality.
A Classic Black Tie Wedding by the Sea
Huw and Laura chose a classic black-tie theme, perfectly suited to the grandeur of Polhawn Fort. The groom and his groomsmen looked incredibly sharp in traditional tails, while Laura was simply radiant in her elegant gown — timeless, flattering, and beautifully suited to the setting.
The ceremony took place inside the historic fort, a wonderfully atmospheric space that always feels intimate and warm, even with a full guest list. As Laura walked down the aisle, the emotion in the room was unmistakable – one of those moments where everything else fades away.
Confetti, Laughter & Coastal Views
After the ceremony, guests gathered outside for a joyful confetti moment overlooking the Cornish coastline. With laughter in the air and petals catching the light, it was one of those moments that photographers live for – natural, joyful and completely unforced.
Drinks on the lawn followed, with guests soaking up the views across the sea while sharing stories, laughter and a few celebratory toasts. Polhawn Fort really does offer one of the most spectacular backdrops in Cornwall, and it never fails to impress.
Romantic Portraits on the Cliffs
One of the highlights of the day was heading down to the cliffs for some quiet moments with just the two of them. The dramatic Cornish coastline, combined with soft spring light, created the most breathtaking setting for their couple portraits.
These moments are always about more than just the photographs – they’re a chance for couples to pause, breathe, and take everything in together. Huw and Laura absolutely embraced it, resulting in some truly beautiful, natural images that feel both cinematic and completely authentic.
