The story behind Charlotte Atherton Photography

Charlotte Atherton Photography is a family business. Myself (Charlotte) and my son Scott are full-time professional photographers with bases in Cornwall and Hampshire.

We specialise in documenting weddings, events, property and lifestyle photography, working throughout the UK and internationally.

Photography was a passion of mine from a very young age. My Grandfather was an amazing photographer who documented his part in WW2 as well as his passion for racing cars. The passing down of his knowledge and memories sparked my imagination and our journey began.

Taking photos as a hobby progressed into a career as I discovered an artistic talent and an imaginative eye for images. I love taking photographs, being creative, capturing lasting memories and producing great images.

We are a family photography business

From a young age, Scott quite clearly had his great-grandfathers talent for photography and never went anywhere without a camera in his hand. This, mixed with his obsession with extreme sports, resulted in some amazing images.

One day the 'why don't you come along and see what I do' was offered to Scott and five years ago he joined me to photograph his first wedding. I was amazed at the precious memories he captured, his ability to sense a candid moment that would pass most by was instinctive, matched only by his creative eye for detail.
